- Originally intended to detect live missiles from decoys, the original technology has been adapted for medical and research use
- Adapted from a technology developed for the U.S. Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars)
- The imaging system detects, counts and classifies cells of interest based on color, size and shape
- Researchers can use the imaging system with virtually any stain of tissue, tissue array or cell smear including H&E, special stains and immunohistochemical stains
